How to Build an SMS Website

Save

People who like to chat online enjoy SMS or short message service websites. Users normally send this type of communication in the form of a text message via a mobile phone. However, websites also have the capability to use SMS messages to facilitate the interaction of their visitors with each other. If you learn how to build a SMS website that uses a chat interface, you can enhance the functionality of your Web property.

  • Start the FTP program that you use to upload content to the Web property that you own. Some examples of FTP programs include Filezilla, Cyberduck or Fetch (see Resources).

  • Download the required SMS code from SMS Geezer. This allows you to place an SMS chat box on your Web page.

  • Double-click on the file that you just downloaded. Copy the contents of the file and then paste it in the HTML code of the Web page. Put the code in the area where you desire the SMS chat box to come up.

  • Drag the file from Step 3 to your Internet-based server via your FTP program.

  • Verify that the SMS online chat feature appears on your website.
