Use the Bissell Proheat Turbo Carpet Cleaner

The BISSELL ProHeat Turbo is a deep cleaning machine that also has a built-in heater. Deep cleaning is different from steam cleaning, even though both involve cleaning with hot water. Deep cleaning your carpets allows hot water and cleaning solution to reach the dirt that embeds itself into the base of your carpet. The hot water and cleaning solution loosen the dirt and the deep cleaning machine sucks the dirt and leftover cleaning solution out of your carpet. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Vacuum your carpet thoroughly. Start in the farthest corner of the room and vacuum backward toward the door. Use the same pattern with the deep cleaner later.

    • 2

Use a pre-treating spray on any stains. Allow the spray to sit on the stain for at least three minutes before you begin using the deep cleaner.

    • 3

Fill the water reservoir with hot water. Do not use boiling water because it can damage the water tank.

    • 4

Fill the cleaning solution tank according to the instructions on the bottle. Each concentration requires a different ratio of cleaner to water.

    • 5

Choose your cleaning setting. Use "Water Rinse" if you want to rinse your carpet after regular cleaning. Choose "Normal" if you deep clean your carpet regularly, and choose "Heavy Traffic" if your carpet needs heavier cleaning.

    • 6

Plug your deep cleaner's cord into a wall outlet. If possible, use an outlet outside the room you are cleaning so you do not have to walk over the wet carpet to unplug the cleaner.

    • 7

Turn both the power and the heat switch on. The heater takes at least one minute to pre-heat before it is ready to use. A light indicates when the heater is ready to use.

    • 8

Press and hold the trigger in the handle while you push the cleaner forward slowly. With the trigger still depressed, move the cleaner back along the same path.

    • 9

Release the trigger and push the cleaner forward along the same path. Depressing the trigger releases water and cleaning solution into the carpet. When you release the trigger, the cleaner removes the water, dirt and cleaning solution from the carpet. The more you run the cleaner over a patch of carpet with the trigger released, the more moisture it will remove from the carpet. Continue until you have cleaned the entire carpet.

    • 10

Empty the collection tank when it fills. If you are finished cleaning the carpet, rinse the tank out completely before replacing it in your machine.

Tips & Warnings

  • Give your carpet plenty of time to dry after cleaning before you walk on it.

  • Move furniture to another room if possible to give yourself more room to clean the entire carpet.
