Today's computer systems offer many entertainment options, including the ability listen to music, audio books, and other clips over the Internet. You may wish to capture the audio from these clips to play on your computer or to transfer, for example, to an MP3 player or iPod. Several third-party applications may be installed that allow you to record and save audio from various Internet sources.

      Download SoundCapture 1.1a from CNET.com.

      Click "Run" in the pop-up window that appears to install the application on your computer.

      Launch SoundCapture by clicking "Start," "All Programs," and clicking "SoundCapture 1.1a."

      Open a Web browser and locate the audio clip that you wish to record.

      Click "Play" on the website containing the audio to be recorded. Press "Record" in SoundCapture as quickly as possible. Press "Stop" when you have recorded your desired clip. The clip is automatically saved in the directory listed just above the SoundCapture logo.

      Click the "Saved File Directory," button, which is the fifth button at the bottom of the SoundCapture window. Locate the recorded file and double-click to open it.
