How to Increase the Gain in an Audio Tube Amplifier thumbnail
The gain is used to adjust volume.

Increasing the gain on an audio tube amplifier is extremely simple; it requires a simple adjustment made to the "Gain" setting on the amplifier. Audio tubes are speaker boxes that are shaped like a cylinder and can be made exclusively for sub-woofers. They almost always have a built-in amplifier. The amplifier provides power to the speakers in the tube and can also control the volume EQ cutoff and other functions.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the control panel for the amplifier. This should be on the back or one end.

    • 2

Locate the "Gain" control. There should be "+" and "-" symbols on either side of it. Turn the switch in the "+" direction to increase the gain or volume.

    • 3

Play music through the amplifier and adjust the gain until the desired volume level is reached.
