If you are still running Internet Explorer 6 on your computer, you more than likely use it on a Windows XP computer. Internet Explorer 6 was a good web browser, but also had its problems. If you are having problems with Internet Explorer 6, it is possible to uninstall the program. Windows will simply roll it back to Internet Explorer 5.

Instructions

      Go to "Start > Settings" and click "Control Panel." Click "Switch to Classic View" on the left window pane, if not there already.

      Double-click on the "Add or Remove Programs" icon.

      Click "Add/Remove Windows Components" on the left. The Windows Component Wizard opens with a list of programs and components.

      Uncheck the box next to "Internet Explorer" and click "Next."

      Click "Restore the previous Windows configuration."

    • 6

      The Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Tools Setup window opens. Click "OK" to roll back Internet Explorer 6 to the 5 version.

      Click "Yes" to confirm the uninstall. Restart your computer. When the computer boots up Internet Explorer 6 will be removed off your computer.
