How to Use Adobe Premiere Pro
Adobe Premiere Pro is software for video producers that takes you from the start to completion of your video project. You will run into less conflict working with other video formats due to the "Native Editing Support" from "SD" to "HD" that is provided in this software. A convenience is that every workspace has a separate panel and when using multiple panels they can be docked where you want.

Open the Premiere software and choose which project you will be working with, either a previous, recent or new project. No need to change the default settings at this time.

Go to the "Capture Format" menu and choose the type of format you want to capture, for example from the web or a DVD.

In the dialog box at the bottom give your project a name and determine the folder you are going to use to save your project. Before you click OK, select the "Scratch Disks" tab to create your own folder structure, this will make it easy when it comes time for you to move the media and archive. Now choose the folders you want to store the captured media you identified in Step 2 and when you are ready, click "OK."

Work with your sequences in the "Workspace Layout." This area is divided into sections, the top left and middle contain the project panel, source monitor and effect controls. The top right of the workspace contain the audio mixer and program monitor. The left lower section contains the media browser, info panel, effects panel, sequence and history panel. The bottom right panel contains the tracks, timeline, clips and audio meter.

Edit your sequences using the "Timeline Panel." Each sequence you add will appear as a tab within the "Timeline Panel." You are not limited to the amount of sequences you create or number of timelines you open.

Create your video and audio using the "Tracks" feature. Each clip you add to the sequence needs to have a track identified. This is where you are adding sound to your sequences within your "Timeline Panels."

Trim your clips using the "Source Monitor." Here you can add or remove a sequence by double-clicking on the clip in the "Project Panel." You can then play back the clips in the sequence you assembled to view your project.

Access the "Project Panel" and "Media Browser" for links to the different aspects of your video project when you need to add, change or remove sequences. When you are ready, go to the "Effects Panel" and begin setting the desired effects to the sequences you created.

Open your "Tools Panel," which provide shortcuts on the keyboard for several of the functions mentioned in earlier steps. This is the beginning steps in using Adobe Premiere Pro, to continue to the end of your video/media creation follow the prompts.
