How to Stop Skype Super Node

How to Stop Skype Super Node thumbnail
With a few simple steps, you can prevent yourself from becoming a supernode through Skype.

The Skype networking system automatically uses supernode networking settings, which may allow the network information of other Skype users to be stored onto your computer. It is a way for people to use the connections and data flow of other users in social networking. This setting may also cause you to have a slower Internet connection as well as a slower computer system. To avoid this, however, you can set your Skype settings to use only certain ports for incoming connections without having to modify your Windows registry.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Skype. Click the "Tools" tab on the top of your screen, and then click "Options."

    • 2

      Click "Advanced." Choose "Connection."

    • 3

Deselect the box that states, "Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections." Once you're done, click "Save."
