How to Report A SafeLink Phone Lost or Stolen thumbnail
Call a TracFone representative as soon as you notice your TracFone missing.

SafeLink Wireless is in partnership with TracFone under a U.S. government program which provides free cell phone service to low-income households. Participants must reapply after one year to continue using SafeLink free minutes, if qualified. Along with free monthly minutes, TracFone provides free voice mail, limited texting, call waiting, caller ID and limited international calling. If your cell phone is missing or was stolen, you can request a replacement free of charge by immediately contacting a TracFone representative.

Instructions

    • 1

Dial 1-800-867-7183 to contact a TracFone representative. To report your phone missing, inform the representative of the last date of use. Give a detailed description of where you may have lost the phone or how it was stolen.

    • 2

Provide the representative with the TracFone's serial number printed on the activation card. If you cannot locate the activation card, provide the representative with the phone number associated on your SafeLink account.

    • 3

Request to keep your old phone number or ask for a new one. After the representative reports your cell phone lost or stolen, request a copy of the report to be sent to your email address. Check your email to ensure that you have received the TracFone replacement confirmation number. The replacement Tracfone mobile device will be mailed to you within three to five business days.

    • 4

Check the contents upon arrival of the cell phone to make sure that the replacement cell phone, battery, charger, SIM card and activation card are intact.

    • 5

Call the number provided on your activation card to activate your replacement Tracfone and SafeLink account. Provide the serial number, found on the activation card, and the SIM card code found on the back of the SIM, to finalize the activation process.
