Instructions

    • 1

Sand the paint-stirring sticks lightly so that auction attendees won't get splinters from the bid-card paddles. Paint the sticks, if desired, using the colors that represent the school or organization hosting the event.

    • 2

Write numbers on the rounded side of paper plates, using a dark marker. Begin at No. 1 and go forward, so the sequence is easy for auction helpers to keep track of the bidders' numbers during the excitement of the event.

    • 3

Glue a paint stick on the back of each paper-plate bid card. Position the stick so that about two-thirds of the stick is below the plate to form the handle.

    • 4

Stack the bid-card paddles in a box with the lowest numbers on top and highest numbers on the bottom. Arrange the paddles so the worker handing them out can easily keep track of which number to distribute next.

Tips & Warnings

  • To give auction bid cards with a little more personality, cut each plate into a shape, such as school building or school mascot shape.

  • Make the numbers on the bid cards large and dark enough that someone from far away can see them.
