Autoplay on a Truecrypt Mounted Volume

TrueCrypt is a program for Windows that lets you create encrypted files and disk drives, then lets you access the data in the file by mapping a drive letter to it using the software's mounting technology. TrueCrypt secured volumes are protected by strong encryption keys and pass phrases. If you want TrueCrypt to have the Windows autoplay technology work on your encrypted drive, enable the functionality in the TrueCrypt "Settings" page.

Instructions

    • 1

Open TrueCrypt and click the name of the volume you would like to run "AutoPlay" on.

    • 2

Right-click the volume and choose "Properties."

    • 3

Click the check mark labeled "AutoPlay on mount" and click "OK." You have now configured the drive with AutoPlay support.

    • 4

Click "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound," and "AutoPlay."

    • 5

Click "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices" if it is not enabled. This must be set for Windows to support AutoPlay.

    • 6

      Click "Save."
