How to Stream Flash to iPhone

The inability to stream Flash videos on the Apple iPhone has been a source of discontent for some iPhone users. Frash is an iPhone application available through Cydia that allows you to stream Flash videos in the Safari Web browser.

  • Click on the Cydia icon on the jailbroken iPhone. Cydia is the jailbreak equivalent of the iPhone application store, where users can purchase and install a variety of mobile applications that were not approved by Apple. Cydia becomes instantly available when a phone is jailbroken.

  • Go to "Manage" and "Sources" within Cydia to edit the Source by adding

  • Search for the Frash application and install it on the jailbroken iPhone, just as you would any other mobile application. After Frash is installed, Flash will be available instantly on the iPhone device.

Tips & Warnings

  • Frash is compatible only with the iPhone 4 and iPad. While it may work with the iPhone 3G, some known compatibility issues prevent it from working correctly on some devices.
  • Jailbreaking the iPhone violates Apple's terms of service and will void the device's warranty. If you need to have your iPhone replaced or repaired under the manufacturer's warranty, restore the phone to its factory settings in iTunes--a step that will make the jailbreak undetectable.
