How to Send Automated Email
There are several reasons why you might want to send an automated email. Automated email replies let people know you're away on vacation. They also allow you to send automated emails to people you wish to market products to. This process saves quite a lot of time, as you won't have to constantly login to your email client and send messages or newsletters each time you create new items to sell. An auto responder or email scheduler application will send mass email messages to people daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.

1
Go to your online email's "Settings" link to send an automatic "I'm Away" email. In some email clients, you may have to click on "Preferences. Scroll down to "Vacation Responder." Click "Vacation Responder on." Set the date you want the automatic email messages to begin and end. Compose your message. You can write something saying you'll be away or you can write a random message. The message doesn't have to be about a vacation at all, but whatever message you compose will be sent automatically as a reply to people who email you. Click "Save Changes."

Download Send Later for Microsoft Outlook. This application is a scheduler that lets you send email even when you are not at your computer. Each time you compose an email message, you can select the time that Outlook sends the message, sending an automated email. Go to the SendLater website to download a trial version of the program.

Sign up for an auto responder at Aweber, Get Response or use the free service Mail Chimp. With auto responders, you can create email campaigns to send out to a list of email addresses. Sign up for the service and create an opt-in box to place on your web site. The opt-in box will collect email addresses. Compose a message for the box asking people to submit their names, email address and other contact information. Choose the font and color for the opt in box. The auto responder will generate an HTML code for you to place on your site's template. Once you have a few email addresses on your list, login to the auto responder service and create your email campaign. Set the time and dates you want emails to go out.
