You may use Google Sync Apps with mobile phones to help you keep track of your gmail, contacts and calendar information. Google applications are synced according to the type of device you own. If you have a Blackberry or iPhone with your mobile service, follow these steps to sync your gmail and calendar information.

  1. Blackberry Mobile Devices

      Download and install Google Sync Apps on your Blackberry mobile phone. Use the web browser and type the web address for m.google.com/mail. Click the download hyperlink, then click the "Download" button. After the application begins installing itself on your phone, a message will appear that says, "Would you like to grant Google Sync Trusted Application Status?" Click on "Yes" to continue.

      Go to the application screen and look for the "Google Sync Apps" icon and click on it.

      Sign in to your Google account. Type in your email address and password. Click the "Sign in" button when you're done. Wait until Google Sync Apps finishes updating your calendar list. Scroll down to "Configure Sync" and click on it.

      Choose the Google Sync Option that you want to use. If you want to sync your contacts, scroll down to the "Automatic" or "Manual" option. Click the trackball on your Blackberry to make your selection. Scroll down to the calendar option to sync your calendars. Choose the number of weeks that you want your calendar information synced.

      Click on "Escape" when you're done. A pop-up window will appear that says, "Changes Made." Select "Save" and when you see the message, "Do you want to sync now?" select "Yes" and wait for "Google Sync Apps" to finish syncing all of your events. Press the "Dismiss" button after you see the message, "Sync Successful."

    iPhone Mobile Devices

      Click "Settings" on your iPhone's home screen. Check your phone's version to see if it's compatible with the service. Google Sync Apps can sync mobile phones that are versions 3.0 and above.

      Go to "General" and click on "About" and then, click "Version." To upgrade your iPhone, visit apple.com/iphone/softwareupdate/ and follow the installation instructions.

      Scroll down to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and click on it. Open "Add Account" and select "Microsoft Exchange." Type your google email address in the "Username" field, and enter your password in the "Password" field. Leave the "Domain" field blank. Click the "Next" button.

      Type web address m.google.com in the "Server" field, and click "Next." Select "Cancel" if the "Unable to Verify Certificate" message is displayed before the "Exchange Server" screen appears. Click "Next" again.

      Select the services that you want to sync, such as "Mail," "Calendar" and "Contacts." When you're prompted, click the "Keep on my iPhone" option.
