How to Stop Adware Service

Adware programs slow your computer.

Adware Service, also known as Adware.Adservice, is an adware program that installs itself onto your computer without your permission. Once installed, Adware Service launches unsolicited pop-up advertisements on your computer. In addition to being a nuisance, these pop-ups slow your computer and may even cause it to freeze or to crash. Fortunately, this adware program can be removed. Note that the removal instructions presented in this article apply to the Windows Vista and 7 operating systems.

Instructions

End Processes

1. Press "Ctrl" + "Shift" + "Escape" or "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" to open the Task Manager

2. Click the "Processes" tab of the Task Manager.

3. Click the "Show Processes From All Users" button.

4. Right-click "avifil32.exe" and select "End Process."

5. Close the Task Manager.

Unregister DLLs

1. Click the "Start" menu and type "cmd" into the "Search Programs and Files" box and press "Enter." The Command Prompt opens.

2. Type the following commands into the Command Prompt. Press "Enter" after each command.

   regsvr32 /u winlig32.dll

   regsvr32 /u winjvd32.dll

3. Close the Command Prompt.

Delete Registry Keys

1. Click the "Start" menu and type "regedit" into the "Search Programs and Files" box and press "Enter." The Registry Editor opens.

2. Right-click "Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\winlig32" (located in the left pane of the Registry Editor) and select "Delete."

3. Close the Registry Editor.

Delete Files

1. Click the "Start" menu and type "winlig32.dll" into the "Search Programs and Files" box. Right-click on the matching file that appears in the "Results List" and select "Delete."

2. Click the "Start" menu and type "winjvd32.dll" into the "Search Programs and Files" box. Right-click on the matching file that appears in the "Results List" and select "Delete."

3. Click the "Start" menu and type "avifil32.dll" into the "Search Programs and Files" box. Right-click on the matching file that appears in the "Results List" and select "Delete."

4. Restart your computer.
