Determining the best way to celebrate New Year's Eve involves some research.

From Quick Guide: Celebrate New Year's Day
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Determine what you want to do on New Year's Eve. A big concert in Las Vegas? A small party with friends? A trip to an exotic locale?

  2. Step 2

Be honest with yourself; don't go to a party if you want to spend a romantic evening at home.

  3. Step 3

Figure out who you want to celebrate with. Check with friends and family to determine their availability.

  4. Step 4

Consult with those accompanying you to find out their plans and desires.

  5. Step 5

Access the Internet and find out if there are any special events (concerts, comedy, theater) that match those plans and desires.

  6. Step 6

Use your local newspaper or community calendar to investigate local events.

  7. Step 7

Reserve, with a credit card, seats or reservations as soon as you can.

Tips & Warnings
  • New Year's events sell out quickly, so we can't stress enough the importance of acting quickly.
  • A lot of revelers drink too much on New Year's Eve. Watch your alcohol intake, and don't drive drunk. Don't let your companions drive drunk either.

on 11/22/2005 Just get a bunch of people together and party like it's 1999 (I mean, like it's 2000, 'cause the millennium really starts in 2001). Don't worry about getting a date, it's not V-day. Just make sure you wake up the next morning.

on 11/22/2005 If your city has a "First Night" party, take the whole family. New Year's Eve doesn't have to be reserved for couples only.
