How to Put Cover Art on an iPod

Apple's iPod has come a long way since its debut in 2001. Originally incapable of displaying photos, older versions of the iPod have given way to newer models equipped with color screens. The iPod is now perfectly suited for displaying album artwork to accompany your digital music library. Thankfully for consumers, acquiring and transferring album artwork is a simple task that that can be accomplished with the help of Apple's free iTunes software.

      Open Apple's iTunes software on your computer. If you don't already have iTunes, or would like to get the latest version, visit the Apple web page listed in the Resources section.

      Click the "Advanced" menu at the top of the iTunes window and choose "Get Album Artwork." The iTunes software will search for all available album artwork for the tracks within your music library. This process may take several minutes.

      Connect your iPod to the computer with the iPod USB cable. The iTunes software will automatically recognize your iPod and sync the newly added album artwork. If the iPod does not sync, you can always select it from the left menu of iTunes under "Devices" and click "Sync" to manually initiate the process.
