How to Install an HP 612c With a USB Cable

HP recommends using a USB cable that is no longer than 10 ft. in length.

The HP Deskjet 612c is a color inkjet printer with photo-quality printing capabilities. When paired with a Windows 7 computer, the installation process via a USB cable is completed with ease. Manually downloading and installing the printer drivers is unnecessary.

Instructions

1. Connect your computer to the Internet. Windows 7 automatically downloads the most recent version of the printer driver during the installation process.

2. Insert the thin, rectangular end of the USB cable into a USB port on your computer.

3. Place the square end of the cable into the printer port located on the back of the device. Turn on the printer.

4. Your computer will automatically detect and install the printer. The message "Your device is ready to use" will appear.
