If you have been working with Windows and using the shared folder option, perhaps you have come across the need to rename the shared folder. Everything seems to have worked great until you receive the message that the folder can't be found. Before you panic, check with your co-workers and you will see they are still working on the shared folder and the name is not changed on their end. So, did you lose all your information? Can you change the name back? Yes.

      Open "My Computer" or your Windows Explorer. Right click on "Shared Folder."

      Click on the "Sharing" tab. Click on "New Share" on the sharing tab.

      Enter the new name you want to give to the shared folder and any comments.

      Set the permissions as appropriate and click "OK." On the sharing tab, select the original shared folder and click "Remove share."

      Open the shared folder that you renamed and you will find your work and synchronization is back in working order.
