How to Print a PDF to an HTML
Under some circumstances, you may find yourself unable to normally open and view a PDF file. Whether you're making the text usable for a Braille text display or working around a software problem, it's not difficult to convert an online PDF file to basic HTML. All you need is some spare time and an Internet connection, and your file can be converted to HTML through Adobe's own free PDF to HTML conversion service.

There are hundreds of thousands of PDF files freely available online, and converting them to HTML requires nothing more than a link to the file. Go to the web page that hosts the PDF file, and instead of opening the PDF, right click the link and select "Copy Link Address."

2
In another window or tab, open the Adobe PDF to HTML Converter web page, found at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/access_onlinetools.html. At the bottom, you will find a simple web form. The first box asks for the URL of the PDF file you wish to convert. Paste the web address in this box.

The next portion of the form asks what format you wish to convert the PDF into, either HTML or text. Select HTML. You will then be asked why you aren't using Adobe Reader to view the PDF. Answer as you please. Finally, you will be asked what platform you will be using to view the resulting HTML. Select your web browser, and then press the button at the bottom of the page that says "Convert."

Once the file has converted, you will be given a link to the HTML version of the file. Be aware, however, that this conversion may take some time. Depending upon the size of the PDF file and the demands upon Adobe's servers, your conversion could take anywhere from a few moments to an hour or more. Once you are provided with a link to the HTML version, open the file in a new tab or window.

5
If you wish to print or save the file, go to the viewing page for the HTML version, and pull down the "File" menu. In this menu, you should have the option to print or save the file. Saving the file will allow you to open the HTML file even without an Internet connection.
