You will thus need to locate the best suppliers or sources for your products to offer your clients. You will need to determine a list of popular products that people prefer in your area. Buying wholesale is easy and many manufacturers are available online, through trade shows or business connections.

1. Identify the places where you can buy items at wholesale to resell at retail. There are thousands of wholesalers online. You can look up companies that deal in your industry and others that allow smaller quantity orders. Some retail outlets like Costco or Sam's club, provide smaller bulk quantity products for reduced prices through yearly memberships.

2. Visit a trade show in your industry. There you can find wholesale merchandise and suppliers, offering the same markets and product. You will need to be an established business owner to gain entry into the trade shows. You will need to produce proof like a resale certificate, business cards, tax ID or other permits and licenses.

3. Contact the manufacturer directly to obtain the necessary products. Some manufacturers sell products at wholesale prices to retailers directly. But they may sell at a high minimum order and you may not need such large quantities. However, you can ask the manufacturers about their deals or get a list of their distributors.

4. Identify the foreign goods that your customers prefer and purchase them from importers or the foreign companies directly. You will need to account for factors like overseas shipping paperwork, product life cycle, shipping time and costs.

5. Find bargains on online auction sites and buy in bulk. Browse through the wholesale lots category. You may find it difficult to identify the bargains initially, but it will be easy if you're familiar with a specific industry.
