How to Receive a Stimulus Refund
The U.S. government gave tax rebates in a $168 billion economic stimulus plan in early 2008. More than 124 million households were eligible for tax-exempt payments based upon their 2007 tax returns filed with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Average payments were $300 to $1,200, based upon the number of household members and their eligibility. The IRS paid most of the rebates in 2008; however, you are perhaps still eligible for a recovery rebate credit if you have not filed your 2008 tax return.
