How to Change an Audio Output Device
Computers now have the ability to integrate multiple audio devices into their functions. Factory audio cards are now easily exchangeable with others that can provide more stability and better results. After you have installed a new audio device, you must set the configuration to give that audio device dominance over your computer's audio. Changing your new audio device to be used as default only takes a few minutes to accomplish.

Open the "Start" tab on the bottom of your screen and select "Control Panel."

Click on "Hardware and Sound." You will then see the "Sound" tab. Underneath it, click on the option to "Manage Audio Devices" to be taken to the screen where you can change the audio device's settings.

Click on the audio device that you would like to use. Now you have the ability to configure your device and set it to be used as default.

Click "Set Default" to give the new audio device dominance over the computer's internal audio card.

Tips & Warnings
You can change the default setting at any time back to your computer's original settings.
If you disconnect the new audio device, you still might have to go back into the "Control Panel" to tell your machine to use the internal sound card again.
