How to Screen Grab a Web Page

How to Screen Grab a Web Page thumbnail
Screen grabbing a Web page involves only a few steps and takes less than a minute.

Screen grabbing, also known as taking a "screenshot," is the act of taking a photo of a certain Web page. Screen grabbing a Web page may help you remember pertinent information or capture evidence of certain events or images. It's important to know how to take a screen shot--if you need to record information on a page, you're able to do it instantaneously and don't have to copy and paste or manually record the information.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Web page you want to screen grab with an Internet browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer.

    • 2

Hold down "Alt" then press "Print Screen." This captures the image of the Web page you have open.

    • 3

Open another image or text document program such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Paint, Photoshop, Open Office or WordPad. Start a new document. Select "File," then "Paste." Your screen grab, or "screenshot," appears in the document.
