You can defragment your disk to provide better computer performance.

As you use your computer, the disk becomes fragmented over time meaning it takes your computer longer to find information. This can lead to long loading times and slow computer start up. To defragment your disk and speed up Windows XP, you can use Microsoft's built-in defragmenting tool or you can use third-party defragmenting software which can provide faster and better performance.

You can use third party software to more effectively defragment your disk. Open your web browser. Raxco's PerfectDisk can be used 30 days for free. Download and install PerfectDisk (see Resources). You may need to restart your computer after installation.
