How to Get Rid of Gmail Invites

Back when Google's Gmail Internet e-mail service was "invitation only," each user had 100 "invites." This means that each user could allow 100 other people to sign up for Gmail accounts. Because Gmail is now open to the public, these invites are now essentially useless. However, the only way you can get rid of the Gmail invites associated with your account is to actually use them and send them to people.

Instructions

1. Open your Web browser.

2. Go to Gmail and log in to your Gmail account page using your e-mail address and password.

3. Scroll down to the bottom of your account page and look for the "Invite a Friend" box on the left-hand side. This box controls your Gmail invites.

4. Type an e-mail address into the "Give Gmail To" box and click the "Send Invite" button. The number next to the "Send Invite" button that represents how many invites you have left will decrease by one.

5. Repeat Step 4 until you have given away all of your Gmail invites. There will no longer be any invites associated with your account.
