How to Locate an SSID

The service set identifier (SSID) is the publicly transmitted name that identifies a particular wireless area network. Locate SSIDs within your vicinity by using your wireless adapter in conjunction with the network settings of your operating system to generate a list of all SSIDs to which you can connect. This typically takes less than a minute to accomplish.
