Putting your music on MySpace Music allows you to promote your songs and get feedback.

Social networking sites have become a tool for up-and-coming artists and even established artists to connect with their fans. One of the most popular social networking sites available for musicians is MySpace Music. With MySpace Music, you can upload up to 10 songs to your page's built-in music player, and you can even sell your songs there. After you've created your MySpace Music account, it is relatively simple to get your tracks uploaded and start promoting them.

    • 3

Click the link that says "Manage Featured Songs" on the Edit Profile page. The Manage Featured Songs page contains text about copyright infringement, and to the right will appear a list of any songs you've uploaded. Below the body of text on the left is a link that says "Add a Song," and below it are options for your music player.

Click the "Add a Song" link. More copyright infringement warnings appear, and below them is an input form for your song's information.

    • 5

Input your song's title, the album or mix tape on which your song appears, the record label that released the song and some other information. If you want your fans to be able to download your song for free, check the box labeled "Allow users to download this song." When you're done inputting your song's information, click the "Update" button at the bottom of the form. You'll be directed to the MP3 upload page.

Click the "Upload" button. A progress bar will appear showing how many bytes have been uploaded. When the song is finished uploading, you'll be automatically directed to the Manage Features Songs page, and your song's name will appear in the list to the right with the word "Processing" below the song's photo. You can come back and move the song up or down in your playlist, or edit the song's information after the song is done processing within an hour or so.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can only upload 10 files, but the size limit for an individual file is 250 megabytes, which allows for a lengthy mix of songs all in one file.

  • Don't ignore the copyright infringement information. You can get in serious trouble for uploading other people's songs.
