The stylus on a turntable should be replaced regularly.

The stylus on your Kenwood turntable is a small plastic component that contains the needle and connects to the arm of the turntable. This is one of the most important components on your turntable because it actually plays the record. Needless to say, maintaining and replacing your stylus should be done regularly. The good news is that even if you don't know very much about electronics, you should be able to change the stylus on your player quickly and without any problems.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the power cable and any connector wires from your Kenwood turntable.

    • 2

Locate the stylus cartridge on the very front of the turntable arm. Pull the stylus cartridge straight down, and then pull it out to remove it.

    • 3

Place the new stylus bottom first in the compartment and lift it straight up until it clicks in place.

    • 4

Place the small included stylus cover on the front of the stylus and push it in until it can't go any farther. The stylus cover will protect the stylus when it's not in use.

Tips & Warnings

  • One stylus is good for about 500 record plays.
