How to Glue a Weave to a Wig Cap

Use a cap weave to try a new hairstyle.

Hair weaves are notoriously damaging for natural hair. When hair weaves are applied directly to the hair, there is a serious risk of hair damage, breakage and loss. An alternative to glueing or braiding a hair weave directly onto the hair is to use a weave cap. A weave cap is a stocking that hair extensions are applied to. The stocking can be taken off nightly and put back in place in the morning. This is a great way to try a new hairstyle without the permanence.

Things You'll Need

• Swimming cap
• Hair weave stocking cap
• Hair extensions
• Hair glue

Instructions

1. Wash, dry and style your hair as normal. Braid your natural hair into small cornrows if your hair is longer.

2. Place all of your hair inside of a swimming cap.

3. Place a stocking cap over the swimming cap on your head.

4. Glue the hair extension pieces onto the weave cap. Start from the base of the cap and work upwards. Glue on each extension piece horizontally on top of the piece below it. Remove the weave stocking cap when you have covered the entire cap.

5. Allow the glue to dry and remove the swim cap. Put on the weave stocking whenever you want to wear that hairstyle.
