How to Boost Download Speed on BitComet

BitComet is a free torrent program that allows you to use torrent files to download media, games, programs and other files from many other users all at once. The torrent style of downloading from a "cloud" of users makes for quicker downloads. Oftentimes, the firewall in Windows can slow down the speed of a program like BitComet. You can use native controls in Windows to bypass the Windows firewall and boost the download speed of BitComet.

Instructions

1. Click the "Start" menu in Windows and select "Control Panel."

2. Click "Classic View" on the left if you're not already in it. Scroll down and double-click on the "Windows Firewall" option.

3. Click the "Exceptions" tab. Scroll down until you find BitComet. If you don't see it there, click "Add program."

4. Double-click on the BitComet EXE file to add the program to the list there. Check the box next to the entry for BitComet. Click "OK." BitComet will now move around your firewall, making its speed faster.
