How to Uninstall a Program not in Add/Remove

Windows XP includes "Add/Remove Programs,"--a built-in uninstaller that allows you to uninstall programs from your computer quickly and safely. Unfortunately, some installed programs do not show up in the uninstaller many times because they are either damaged or come with their own uninstaller. If you are unable to remove programs from the "Add/Remove Programs" uninstaller, use this alternative step to remove programs safely.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Windows "Start" menu and click "All Programs" or "Programs" depending on the operating system you are using.

    • 2

Scroll up the menu and select the folder belonging to the program you want to uninstall. A subfolder opens up.

    • 3

Click the uninstall option in the subfolder. This launches the uninstall wizard. Follow the guided prompts in the uninstall wizard to uninstall the program from your computer. If prompted, restart your computer.
