How to Uninstall iTunes
iTunes is one of the most popular computer media players on the market and comes pre-installed on any new Apple computer. But even though iTunes is a convenient program, it might not be right for you. If you've found another media player that you prefer, there is no computer programming necessary in the removal of iTunes from your Mac. The whole process should only take a few moments of your time.

On a Mac

Open the finder on your computer. This is the icon that is two shades of blue with the image of a smiling face.

Select "Go" from the list of options in the finder and then select "Applications." Locate the iTunes program and then drag it to the trash can icon on your desktop.

Open the Activity Monitor program on your computer and scroll through the list of options until you come to the iTunes Helper. Select it and then click the "Quit Process" option. Click "Quit" again when prompted to confirm.

Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner of the screen and then choose "System Preferences." Choose "View" and then "Accounts" from the list of options in the drop-down menu. Then, click "Login Items."

Find the "iTunes Helper" option in the window and select it. Then click the "-" tab to delete it. After that, quit System Preferences.

Select "Go" again from the Finder and then select "Go to Folder." Enter "/System/Library/Extensions" and then select the "Go" option.

Find the "AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg" file in the list of options and drag it to the trash. Remove any other files ending in ".pkg" that has "iTunes" in the title.

Restart your computer and empty the trash. iTunes will now be completely removed from your computer.
On a PC

Quit your iTunes music program and then click the "Start" tab in the bottom of the screen. Choose "Control Panel" from the list of options in the drop-down menu.

Click on the "Add or Remove Programs" option. Then, select "iTunes" from the list of options that appears and click "Remove."

Select "Yes" when prompted and then wait for the stauts bar on screen to inform you when the uninstallation process is complete.

Select "No" when asked if you would like to restart your computer. iTunes will now be uninstalled on your computer. Go back to "Add or Remove Programs" in the control panel and remove any iPod Updater files that are listed in the options.
