1
Locate an Internet provider in your area that offers alternate internet service such as cable broadband, satellite or wireless Internet service. A search of ispcompared.com can bring about a variety of cable broadband, dial-up, satellite and wireless providers by zip code.
-
2
Call the sales department of the internet provider and request a plan that matches your Internet needs and is affordable.
-
-
3
Pay for the service plan in advance with a credit card that is only used for Internet purchases. Doing this will prevent the company from continuously debiting your card should you decide to cancel. It is best to request a new customer promo code before paying. Regardless of whether you actually have a promo code, ask that a discount be applied to your new service to allow you to try out the service plan.
