How to Recover Recently Deleted Files

Because it is possible you could mistakenly delete a file or an image from your computer, Windows allows you to retrieve recently deleted files. When you retrieve a deleted file, you have the choice to restore the file to the location where it was when you deleted it or to the desktop for easy access. Recovering recently deleted files is fairly easy and does not require you to have anything but basic computer knowledge.

      Double-click on the "Recycle Bin" icon on your desktop.

      Scan the list of deleted items that appears.

      Right-click on a desired item on the list. To select more than one item, left-click on as many as you need to select while holding down the "Ctrl" key, then right-click.

      Choose "Restore" from the drop-down list to restore the selected files to their original locations. Or choose to follow Step 5 or Step 6.

      Click, hold and drag the icons of the deleted files into your desktop to restore them to your desktop.

      Click an icon and select "Ctrl" and "C" to copy an icon and "Ctrl" and "V" to paste it into a different location.
