How to Make Lotion Massage Candles
Massage lotion candles can significantly increase the pleasure in both giving and receiving a massage. The candles are made out of soft soy wax that can be used as a lotion when it melts. This lotion reduces friction and allows the masseuse to work the muscles more deeply. The heat from the melted wax contributes to the experience as well. Massage lotion candles make excellent gifts. Making them at home can save money and allows you to choose the scent, container and presentation of the candle.

1
Select a container to hold your candle. Choose a container based on the desired size of your candle and the function. If you're giving the candle as a gift, choose a container that is appealing, if the candle is for your own use, various containers (tin or glass) will work. Fix the wick to the bottom of the container with glue or hot wax.

2
Heat an inch of water at low heat until it reaches a low simmer. Place the soy wax in a glass container (a measuring cup will work) and hold it in the water until the water melts the wax.

Pour in the almond oil. Stir slowly at a steady speed.

4
Remove from heat after the oil has been thoroughly mixed into the wax. Add a 1/2 teaspoon of vitamin E. Stir in slowly.

5
Pour in essential oils of your choice if you would like to add scent to the candle. Use approximately 30 drops of oil; depending on the pungency and strength of the oil you may use more or less.

6
Pour the wax mixture into the candle container slowly. Hold the wick with long-handled tweezers to keep it straight and centered as you pour. Allow the wax sit until hardened.
