How to Change a Clock to 12 Hour Time

The 24-hour clock format is a military format of time keeping in which the day is divided into 24 hours, with each hour represented by numbers ranging from 0 to 23. The 12-hour clock time is a format that breaks a 24-hour day into two periods (a.m. and p.m.). Whether you are using a PC or Mac, you can change your 24-hour clock system to 12-hour clock time in minutes.

Click the "Customize" button. A new box opens. You will see "HH:mm:ss" if you are running a 24-hour clock. The two uppercase H's make the clock a 24-hour clock. Replace the two uppercase H's with two lowercase h's. It should look like this: hh:mm:ss. Add two lowercase t's at the end to indicate either p.m. or a.m. The final result should look like this: hh:mm:ss:tt. Click "OK" to save the changes and click "OK" again. You should see the 12-hour clock system on the system tray.
