1
Contact Blue Nile at (800)242-2728 and request a "Return Authorization Code". Write down this number.
-
2
Write the return authorization code on the bottom of the return sticker that included with the item when it was originally sent from Blue Nile. Retain a copy of the return authorization code for your records.
-
-
3
Repackage the item in the same packaging material from Blue Nile, if possible. If that packing material has been discarded, pack the item very carefully in protective material, such as bubble wrap, for insulation.
-
4
Include the paperwork that came with the original item, including the invoice and the Blue Nile diamond certificate, if applicable. If a diamond certificate was sent with the original item and is not returned, you may be liable for its replacement cost of $250 as of 2010.
-
5
Ship the original item with all paperwork to the Blue Nile address listed on the original invoice. Do not write "Blue Nile" on the outside packaging to help prevent theft.
-
6
Insure the package when shipping. If the item cost less than $500, you can ship it via any carrier. Request a delivery receipt. If the item cost more than $500, ship it US Postal Service Registered Mail with insurance and a receipt request. If the item costs more than $25,000, call Blue Nile at (800)242-2728 to make special shipping arrangements.
