How to Use Outlook With Free Yahoo Mail
Yahoo Mail is a popular, free Web-based email service that allows you to hop on the Web and check your email from any computer with an Internet connection. With Outlook, Microsoft's email application, you can view your Yahoo Mail without having to open a browser.

Open your Outlook application. Select "Tools" in the main menu bar. Scroll down and click "E-mail Accounts."

Choose "Add a new e-mail account." Click the "Next" button.

Hit "POP3" in the drop-down menu. Click the "Next" button.

Enter your name and email address in the appropriate fields.

Type "pop.mail.yahoo.com" in the incoming server field. Type "smtp.mail.yahoo.com" in the outgoing server field.

Enter your user name and password in the appropriate fields. Put a check mark in the box next to "Remember password."

Hit the "Test Account Settings" button. This will test the settings that you have created.

Hit the "More Settings" button.

Click the "General" tab. Enter "Yahoo Mail" in the field under "Mail Account."

Hit the "Outgoing Server" tab. Put a check mark next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication."

Put a check mark next to "Use same settings as my incoming mail server." Hit the "OK" button.

Tips & Warnings
According to Microsoft, users in the United States can use Outlook with their free Web browser-based Yahoo Mail only if they have a paid-subscription Yahoo Mail account. Their paid-subscription account must include POP3 access and forwarding.
