How to Copy DVDs With Open Source
Creating a backup copy of your personal video DVDs requires DVD backup software. Three popular open source DVD backup options are Handbrake, AcidRip and DVD::Rip. Handbrake is a graphical program available for Windows, Mac and Linux that creates a mpeg4 copy of the video. AcidRip and DVD::Rip are graphical programs for the Linux operating system. The AcidRip software can create an .avi or .mpg file as the backup copy. DVD::Rip will create an .avi file.
