DIY Kitchen Tables
Throughout the decades, kitchen tables have been places of socialization where problems are solved and arguments are settled. Many great stories have been told and countless plans have been made while gathered around this simple piece of kitchen furniture. Creating your own kitchen table adds a special touch to your home. Things You'll Need
- 4 pieces of lumber, 2 inches by 2 inches by 30 inches long
- Sandpaper
- Metal L brackets
- Screws
- Drill
- Table top
- Putty
- Wood stain

Sand your pieces of lumber. Rub each side thoroughly to smooth all surfaces. These pieces will be the table legs.

Use a pencil to mark areas on your table legs where the L brackets will be installed. You need two brackets on each leg, 90 degrees apart from each other. Attach the brackets to the table legs with the screws, using the drill.

Place the table top upside down on the floor. Attach the legs to table top using screws. Be sure that the screws are not long enough to extend through the table top.

Turn table upright. Increase stability by drilling a long screw down through the table top and into the table leg. Cover area with putty and smooth with sandpaper.

Stain table with your favorite type of stain. Match it to cabinetry or other furniture in the kitchen for a cohesive design.

Tips & Warnings
Paint is an alternative to stain. Depending on your kitchen design, this may be a better option.
Do not allow small children around power tools or table hardware.
