How Do I Fill in a Blank PDF Form?

PDF forms are designed to be a version of a document that you cannot change. Oftentimes instruction manuals and things of that nature will come in PDF format so that copies can be dispensed without any changes being made to the original text. If you come across some kind of form that is in PDF format, you will have to copy its text into another program to fill it out. You will then be able to export it back into the PDF format if you so choose.

Right-click anywhere inside your new blank document and click "Paste." This will paste the text from the PDF form into the new blank word processing document.

    • 5

Fill out the fields in your form in the word processing document. You can now type anywhere you'd like in the text.

Save your word processing document as a PDF file. If you were using Microsoft Word, for example, you would click "File" and then "Save As." Select the "PDF" option from the list of file types you can save your document as, and then click "Save" again. Your word processing document will be saved as a PDF file which contains the original information from the form plus the information you filled out.
