How to Hit Home Runs in Mario Superstar Baseball
Mario Superstar Baseball is a sports simulation developed by Namco, and released by Nintendo for its GameCube console. The game allows you to make a baseball team comprised of your favorite Mario characters, with the ultimate goal being to win the Mushroom Kingdom pennant. One of the more important aspects of winning the game is your ability to hit a good home run. While you will not hit a home run every time you go up to bat, knowing how to hit one will clearly improve your chances.

Hold the "A" button when you step up to the plate. This will charge your swing. When you are fully charged, you will notice shockwave activity around your batter's feet.

Time your charging so that your batter is fully charged right as he must swing the bat.

Release the "A" button in order to swing the bat. If you have timed everything perfectly, you will likely hit a home run.

Tips & Warnings
To guarantee a home run, try to move your batter so you can force the ball to make contact with his bat's "sweet spot." Each batter has a different sweet spot: Mario's is the "M" on his bat. Luigi's is the "L" on his bat. Daisy's is the flower pattern on her bat. Birdo's is the purple spot on her bat. Toad's is the Toad face on his bat. Shy Guy's is the Shy Guy mask on his bat. Goomba's is the purple spot on his bat. Koopa's is the shell design on his bat. The other sweet spots for characters can be found at the link in the References section.
