The CD lens.

The eye of a CD player, better known as the lens, is the small, circular piece of glass on the bottom of a CD player. The lens reads the information printed on a CD through the aid of a laser. However, as you use your CD player the eye begins to fog up and even become dirty. Once dirty, it can cause a CD to skip or not play at all.
