How to Crochet Slippers for Men
Men's crocheted slippers work up quick and easy, and are always appreciated. Most styles use one skein of worsted weight yarn or two skeins of fingering/baby yarn, and a single stitch throughout. Each of these men's crochet slipper patterns feature simple stitches and minimal shaping so that you can easily finish up a pair in an evening of watching television.

Men's Crocheted Bootie Slippers
-
1
With size J crochet hook and two strands of baby yarn held together, chain 60 (men's size 10-12). The foundation chain will determine finished size of slippers. To make them smaller or larger, add or decrease the number of chains.
-
2
Single crochet in second chain from hook, then in each chain across. Chain one, turn.
-
-
3
Single crochet in each chain to end. Chain one, turn. Repeat until you've completed 12 rows of single crochet. On last row, turn without turning chain.
-
4
Slip stitch into first 17 single crochet. Chain one, single crochet in next 26 stitches, leaving the last 17 stitches unworked. Chain two, turn.
-
5
Double crochet in each single crochet across. Chain two, turn. Work even in double crochet for two more rows. Chain two, turn.
-
6
Make ribbing row as follows: Work double crochet around the post of the next stitch, inserting hook from front of work - one front post double crochet (fpdc) made. Work double crochet around post of next double crochet, inserting hook from back of work - one back post double crochet (bpdc) made. Alternate fpdc and bpdc across the row to simulate ribbing. Break yarn and pull through, leaving a long tail for sewing.
-
7
Fold slipper in half, matching long and short edges. Stitch seam and finish off by weaving in the end of the yarn.

With worsted weight yarn and Size H hook, chain 36. This foundation will make a pair of men's size medium (10-12) slippers. To make them smaller or larger, change the size of the hook and/or the yarn weight. From here on, all single crochets are worked in the back loop only to establish a ribbed pattern.
-
9
Single crochet in second chain from hook. Single crochet in each chain to end--35 single crochet. Chain one, turn.
-
10
Single crochet in 30 single crochet stitches, leaving last five stitches unworked. Chain one, turn. Single crochet in each single crochet to end. Chain one, turn. Single crochet in 20 single crochet, leaving remaining stitches unworked. Chain one, turn. Single crochet to end. Chain one, turn. Single crochet in each single crochet all the way to the end--35 single crochet made. Chain one, turn. Single crochet to end. Chain one, turn.

Repeat the previous six rows until the long end of the slipper measures 11 inches or long enough to wrap from ankle, around the bottom of the foot and up to the other ankle. End on a full row of 35 stitches with yarn at the narrow end, which will be the toe.
-
12
Working across the narrow end, pull up a loop of yarn in the end stitch of each row across, keeping all loops on the hook. Yarn over, and pull through all loops on the hook to form the toe. Yarn over and pull through once. Break yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. Thread tapestry needle with tail and sew the first 20 stitches of the sides together. Fasten off and weave yarn end in. Fold the slipper in half, and sew the back seam together. Finish off with a row of single crochet stitches around the ankle opening to reinforce seams.
