How To Install an Android Device Driver

Installing the driver for your Android mobile phone is the first step in configuring your computer to sync with your Android phone. The device driver is the file that allows your computer to recognize and communicate with the phone, enabling files and other information to be transferred between the machines. Installing this driver is a quick process.

Instructions

1. Click "Start" and click the "Control Panel."

2. Open the "Device Manger."

3. Connect your Android phone to the computer via USB cable.

4. Double click on the "?" icon and select the "Install Driver" option.

5. Select the location of the hard drive where the driver file is stored to begin the installation.

6. Reboot your computer when the auto-install completes.
