UGG boots cost more than other kinds of footwear since they are made from quality sheepskin suede, so you'll want to do what you can to keep them looking their best. Suede can wrinkle just like other fabrics, and if you own a pair of UGGs, this can be a problem. Over time, they can get creases, especially when they are not stored properly. What is the best way to get out those wrinkles, anyway?

Unfortunately, UGG boots can get wrinkled. These boots are lined with thick sheepskin, and the tall upper part of the boot can get weighed down, lean over and become creased when not worn. Frequent stretching and pulling on the boots to put them on and take them off can stress the soft material too. You might also see wrinkles on your UGG boots after you have folded them into a suitcase and then taken them out.

These are the main reasons UGG boots get creases and wrinkles. To prevent them, you need to keep them in a straight position with the top straight. To do this, you can stuff them with some socks or old, clean clothes. Once you get in the habit of stuffing your boots, you shouldn't have to deal with wrinkles anymore.

Cleaning Your UGG Boots

To keep them looking their best, clean stains when you see them and treat the boots with a water repellent. Because they are not waterproof, UGG boots that get wet can sustain severe damage. You can treat them with a stain and water repellent product before you wear them the first time or afterward if you already have a pair.

A well-cared-for pair of UGG boots can last for many years. To keep them clean, you can use a very soft and clean damp rag to blot or wipe the material gently; never rub it and do not use a brush. Never put boots in a washing machine; hand wash only with a damp sponge plus a cleaning and conditioning product designed for UGGs or suede.

Getting Creases Out of Suede Shoes

Fortunately, there is an easy fix for getting wrinkles out of suede sneakers, and you can do the same thing with your creased UGG boots. Turn an iron to its lowest setting and allow it to warm up. Then, place balled-up clean fabric or paper towels inside the boots and put them on an ironing board. Cover the creased area with a clean dishtowel and carefully iron it.

Be sure to keep the iron moving; otherwise, you risk scorching the towel and boots. After about 15 to 20 seconds, remove the iron and towel and check if the creases have smoothed out. If not, keep ironing and checking the suede. Do not use the steam or water features of the iron or you could damage the boots.

UGGs are not waterproof but are water-repellent. With this in mind, there is one other method you can try. Fill the boots with your balled-up fabric or towels and put them in your bathroom near the shower. Either take a hot shower or turn the shower on hot for about five minutes. The steam may work to smooth out the creased boots.
