Research any sites online that offer free 3-D house plan customization online without requiring a download. Examples include floorplanner.com and Bobvila.com under design tools.

Register with the site, if required. Entering your email address and a password will allow access to the site later.

Create your 3-D house plan by choosing which room you'd like to decorate. Whether you want to draw out plans for a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom or living room, you can click to use a default layout or enter specific dimensions. If you enter your own dimensions or want to view the entire house at one time, the house plans must be drawn two-dimensional, with a bird's-eye view.

Customize the simple things first: Determine if you want hardwood, tile or carpeted flooring and if you prefer bare walls over wallpapered or painted walls. You will be able to mix and match the floor and wall colors in any number of combinations.

Begin adding other important aspects to the 3-D room, such as furniture, wall decor, house plants, curtains and area rugs.

Save the room, and label it as necessary, e.g. "Bedroom 1" or "Living Room." Repeat the process to build each room until you have created a 3-D version of every room for your house. If you need to change a detail or two in a previously created room, you can log back in and make adjustments before saving the new version.
