How to Add an Alarm for a Palm Calendar Appointment

Keeping your appointments in your Palm handheld is great ' especially if you check your Palm device on a regular basis. For those of you who don't, Palm has added an alarm feature to remind you of upcoming appointments. This assumes you are using a Palm III or later device.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    Customizing the Sound of Your Alarm

  1. Step 1

    Tap the Prefs icon, then choose General. Select a volume for your alarm by choosing a level from the Alarm Sound pull-down menu.

  2. Step 2

    Press the Date Book button.

  3. Step 3

    Tap the Menu icon, then Preferences from the Options menu.

  4. Step 4

    Tap Alarm Preset if you want all your new appointments to have alarms on by default.

  5. Step 5

    Choose a sound from the Alarm Sound pull-down menu. Test the different options to find one you like best.

  6. Step 6

    Choose an option from the Remind Me pull-down menu if you want the alarm to go off more than once (like a snooze) until you respond to it.

  7. Step 7

    Choose an option from the Play Every pull-down menu for the frequency of the reminders.

  8. Step 8

    Tap OK to close the Preferences box.

  9. Assigning an Alarm to an Event

  10. Step 1

    Select an appointment, then tap Details.

  11. Step 2

    Check Alarm to turn the alarm on for the event.

  12. Step 3

    Select a time for the first reminder alarm to go off. For example, you may want a reminder 15 minutes before an upcoming appointment.

  13. Step 4

    Tap OK to close the Event Details box.

Tips & Warnings
  • Set the alarm for at least an hour before an appointment if you need to travel to it.
