How to Attach Hair to Foam Puppets
According to Danielle StAmont, a private family childcare provider in Fallbrook, California, adding the finishing touches to a puppet such as hair is a quick and fun process. This activity can be performed with children, as it will excite and prepare them to play and listen to puppet play when the craft is completed. The easiest and safest "hair" for a foam puppet is yarn. You can let your children choose the color yarn they wish to add, and this will help them connect further with the puppet.

3
Put a drop of melted glue on top of the puppet's head toward the center.
-
4
Take one piece of yarn before the glue is dry and center the piece on the puppet's head. Place it down onto the glue drop, letting each side of the yarn fall on the sides of your puppet's head.

5
Continue gluing pieces of yarn to your puppet's head, lining up each piece behind the previous one until the back of your puppet's head is completely covered with yarn pieces.

Tips & Warnings
If your puppet has longer hair, you can choose to pull it back into a ponytail or pigtails.
Glue guns create hot glue and should be used with caution, especially around children. Never leave a child unattended with a hot glue gun.
