Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a 20-lb. cylinder. These can be found at gas stations, hardware stores and retail stores. These 20-lb. cylinders are the cylinders that are used to fuel gas grills.

    • 2

Set your cylinder up in your greenhouse and set the heater next to it. Read the instructions carefully because each heater and cylinder could connect slightly different.

    • 3

Screw the gas connection hose from the heater on to the propane tank. Make sure the connections are tight and secure.

    • 4

Turn the heater on and set to your desired temperature setting. Keep the heater away from combustible objects. Read the manual of your heater for exact clearance measurements.

    • 5

Make sure the greenhouse vents are at least partially open. You'll need fresh air for combustion since combustion needs oxygen to take place. You'll also need fresh air so you are not suffocated when working in the greenhouse.

Tips & Warnings

  • This type of heater system may not be recommended for really cold climates. Fresh air brought in at extremely cold temperatures can be expensive and difficult to heat up.

  • Failure to have adequate fresh air can result in suffocation. Read your individual heater's manual to see how much fresh air is required to operate.
